Sumilon Island, Post retirement dives 852-854 June 24, 2025
We moved off to Sumilon Island after our fun with Oslob's Whale Sharks for three more dives. Some photos from these dives below, to see more, please go to:

A couple of surface photos. Phillip took this picture of our team (less Phillip and George) underway on our Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB), below:
The camera table with Russ and Barbara's high definition video cameras with powerful lights and my camera, sporting my relatively recent addition of a second strobe and longer arms, Richard Salas would be proud!
This map shows the part of the Philippines that Atlantis Azores is taking us to over our 15 day trip. Below:
My cabin (I lucked into having my own!) on the boat, below:
Maybe you can never have too many Anemonefish/Clownfish photos? Below:
A Spotted Sweetlips (no I'm not talking about the copious backscatter that I haven't the time and patience to remove!):
Another photo of my beautiful, exotic, whatsit fish, I really need to look it up... oh, I got help from the crew, it's a Blackstriped Angelfish! below:
I daringly approached a Titan Triggerfish, the most aggressive type of fish, when defending its eggs, and it has a vicious bite and will pursue you a long way once angered. I got this series of photos with it excavating large pieces of broken coral, maybe building a nest or excavating prey. Other fish eagerly crownding around, one of them giving the Titan a wary eye, hoping to steal a meal. Below:
A large Zebra Pufferfish, a pair of tbd Butterflyfish, and an exotic tbd fish. Below:
"See that thing in the reef with the big shiny teeth, it's a moray!" by Barefoot Man, Grand Cayman. Well, no shiny teeth, it refused to smile. Below:
A Midnight Snapper, I frequently see them but rarely get close enough for a photo. Below:
A cool tbd Sea Star, another pair of False Clownfish, and a Scorpionfish, below:
Our boat has reached our destination for today's dives after a nine hour overnight cruise. Time for first breakfast and to then shift my camera from wide angle to macro.
