Fun with Oslob's Whale Sharks , Post Retirement Dive 851 June 24,2025
No strobes no video lights, just natural light photography with the Whale sharks that come in for their morning feeding at Oslob.
We were restricted to being at least 15 ft down. There was general mayhem in the buoy enclosed feeding area up on the surface with human powered boats and lots of swimmers. A unique experience. For most of the dive the Whale Sharks were above us, being fed. The quality of our dive improved tremendously near the end when a curious juvenile (only 20 ft long or so) made repeated passes on us.
There were probably 6 to 8 different Whale Sharks ranging in size from 35 to 16 ft (juveniles) in length.
A fun start to our third day of diving with Atlantis Azores.
