Alona Beach, post retirement dive 855-858 June 25,2025

Below are some pictures from these dives, I'm very pleased they include a Comet, in this case, not a celestrial object but a very shy elusive extraordinarily exotic hard to photograph fish. To see more from these dives, please go to: https://photos.app.goo.gl/AimTbUfvVm7mZR386 Below:Zebra Pufferfish with soft coral, Two Spot Snappers, followed by a pair of Moorish Idols.
Emperor Angelfish, below:
A juvenile Ribbon Sweetlips, below:
Above: A Regal Angelfish Below: As we drifted along the reef we passed below (thankfully!) Atlantis Azores sitting on the surface, followed by a local Panga.
I know you're eager to see another fine family of False Clownfish! Below:
Beautiful Feather worms (I think) followed by an exotic shrimp in Bubble Coral, below:
Below: Nudibranchs, species tbd.
Cian pointed out a Banded Sea Kraite, very venemous, back in a shallow cave. I carefully tucked in and focused and took his picture. He was decidedly mispleased. I carefully backed out of the cave. Below:
Above: A Giant Frogfish face. Can you find his eye? On his right. Avove: Below: An adorable 2 inch Yellow Spotted Trunkfish
Below: Another difficult to macro photo subject, Banded Pipefish.
This Banded Pipefish is carrying eggs. Look closely in the next picture, below:
Below: A Blue Striped Flatworm, about 3 inches long.
An adorable, beautiful four inch Cowfish, with a Chocolate Chip Seastar below:
Below: A White Eyed Moray peaks out
What a cute pair...of deadly ambush predator Lizardfish
4 inch Frogfish. Can you find her eye? No? Me neither. Below:
Below: Found under "cryptic crevice dwellers" in Reef Fish Identification Tropical Pacific, a Comet. I've only ever seen a few and this is the first I've had much success photographing. Maybe 8 inches long.
A very cool Moray followed by a beautiful 1 inch nudibranch, below:
