Enjoyable Dives on Octopus Reef and McAbee Pinnacle in Monterey Bay March 19, 2022
Last Saturday I had two enjoyable dives in showery (we badly need the rain!) weather with Guy and Tessa Foster with the dive boat Beachhopper II. It was very dark and limited visibility at Octopus Reef, below are a few pictures, for the rest please go to:

Our second dive was at McAbee Pinnacle and both the light and visibility were significantly better. 15 -20 ft of visibility, 48 degrees. Saw California Sheephead and was pleaed to see a bit of giant kelp. This is a really good dive site, it rivals Erik's Pinnacle in my book, but perhaps that's because I've only dived it twice. Below are some pictures from this dive, to see more please go to:

Mytridium or Plumrose Anemone
Yellow Edged Cadlina Nudibranch
California Sheepshead, this used to be uncommon this far north in California but with global warming there are more and more of them here.
Nom, nom, nom. A sea star gets munched by a large crab.
