Two dives with the Silver Prince at Ghost Tree Wall and Fire Rock August 5, 2017

Guy Foster and I had two very good dives in Carmel Bay last Saturday off the Silver Prince at Ghost Tree Wall and Fire Rock.  We had extremely calm seas, 15 ft visibility at the surface, 20-25 ft below 25 ft, 52 degrees.  On the way back we were entertained with Risso's dolphins and a Humpback off the Monterey Aquarium.

Below are some photos from our dive on the Wall off Pescadero Point, many more can be seen at:

Male Kelp Greenling on the Wall

                                                 Guy at the "Wall"

Guy coming through the cave on the wall.

Chestnut Cowry with sea urchin.  Still way too many urchins but kelp is starting to recover.

                                          White Spotted Yellow Dorid Nudibranch

Yellow Edged Cadlina Nudibranch - Cadlina luteomarginata

Horned Nudibranch aka Opalescent Nudibrank - Hemissenda Crassicornis

Prominent "horns" of the Horned Nudibranch are apparent here

Another big, healthy, well fed Spiny Sea Star, wonderful to see!

Beautiful Cabezon, sequence to follow.  Guy finally had a good Cabezon encounter.

Here's a natural light photo with the Cabezon well camouflaged in the left of center foreground with Guy approaching from behind it.

Here's the Cabezon illuminated by my strobe with Guy getting close to take a photo.

                                 Guy getting a Cabezon shot.

By popular vote Silver Prince remained anchored at the Pescadero Point Wall.  Guy and I snorkeled over to the nearby wash rock, frequently called "Fire Rock" for the dense, colorful invertebrate life on it for our second dive.  Below are some photos from this dive, for more please go to:
